01/ Overview
The route
Alpine flowers, information panels and open mountain pastures characterise this short circuit around the Klewenstock. From the top station, the trail passes the Klewenkapelle before returning across gentle uplands to Klewenalp.
The cable car from Beckenried takes hikers to the starting point on Klewenalp. From the top station, the approximately one-hour circuit begins on a broad hiking trail. After just a few minutes, it passes the Klewenkapelle and continues out onto open meadows. Information panels introduce familiar and rare species of Alpine flora; up to 120 plant species are described along the Alpine Flower Trail. The Christ cross by sculptor Hans von Matt is another of the circuit’s special features.
With gentle ascents and descents, the trail continues across Klewenalp. The Alpstubli mountain restaurant and Röthen form distinctive landmarks in the open pasture landscape. The route then approaches the Klewenstock without climbing its 1,748-metre summit. The almost cone-shaped mountain remains in view throughout. At around 1,640 metres, the highest point of the hike lies well below the summit. From here, the trail descends gently again and leads through the meadows back to the Klewenalp top station.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
