Arflinafurgga Trail

This route offers impressive scenery and is also perfect for snowshoe hiking beginners. The views of the Heuberge basin, the Rätikon mountains and Schanfigg valley are magnificent. It passes through the Arflinafurgga Pass, which lends its name to this trail, then continues on a beautiful path along a ridge and goes past Unter Cluner See lake shortly before arriving at the destination.

The snowshoe tour begins at the Fideris, Heuberg Arflina bus stop, immediately beside Berghaus Arflina. From the Fideriser Heuberge, the route heads into open terrain and climbs steadily over broad slopes to the Arflinafurgga. The buildings are soon left behind, and the high valley is characterised by moorland and expansive alpine pastures.

Shortly after the pass, the circuit reaches its highest point near Astserhöreli at 2,272 m. By this point, most of the approximately 380 metres of ascent has already been completed. The route then turns back and initially descends gently. The Oberer Cluner See remains slightly off the route, while the broad arc continues lower down to the vicinity of the Unterer Cluner See.

In the final third, shallow hollows alternate with short counter-climbs. The route eventually crosses the open plateau back to the Fideriser Heuberge. After around six kilometres and approximately three hours, the snowshoe tour ends back at Berghaus Arflina and the Fideris, Heuberg Arflina bus stop.
