01/ Overview
The route
The sledging trail from Arosa to Litzirüti meanders through the thick fir forest. It follows the river Plessur and the rails of the Rhaetian Railway. It offers over and over again nice views to Mt. Schiesshorn, Mt. Tierfluh and further mountains of the region.
The sledging descent begins at the Arosa, Untersee stop at just under 1,700 m, which is also the highest point of the route. The Strandbad Restaurant Arosa is right at the start, after which the sledging run soon leaves the houses behind and enters more open terrain. Not far from the route lies the Arosa reservoir, also known as the Iselsee, at around 1,600 m. The reservoir is operated by Arosa Energie.
As the gradient increases, the descent enters the dense forest. Over a total distance of around three kilometres, it drops some 260 metres in elevation; small clearings break up the long forest section. Towards the end, the first houses of Litzirüti come into view. Shortly before the finish lies the Casa Rustica, and after a good 40 minutes the sledging run ends at the Litzirüti stop at around 1,450 m.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
