01/ Overview
The route
The sledding path is roughly 3 km long and leads from the mountain station of the Waldstafel chairlift via Furgglis down to peaceful Tschiertschen. Fast downhill runs and exhilarating turns offer lots of fun for the whole family – either with a toboggan or with the ever popular Gögel, a contraption made in Tschiertschen.
The descent begins at the Waldstafel top station at around 1,830 m, also the highest point on the route. The Waldstafel stop is located right by the start. The Waldstafel-Hock stands not far away, before the sledging run heads downhill across open terrain. This exposed upper section defines the start of the descent. From the outset, the three-kilometre route steadily loses elevation, dropping around 480 metres in total.
Further down, the open terrain gives way to forest. The descent continues between the trees and, as it approaches lower-lying Tschiertschen, reaches the first houses once again. After around 40 minutes, the sledging run ends at approximately 1,360 m by the Runcs valley station. The Tschiertschen (Talstation) stop is just a few steps from the finish.
