01/ Overview

The route

Short, wooded and mostly downhill: the waymarked BärnParcours leads from Liebefeld through Könizbergwald and reaches its highest point just after the first ascent.

The BärnParcours Könizbergwald begins in Liebefeld, though not directly at a public transport stop. The start is around 700 m from Bern, Bodenweid. Signposted as a running route, the course follows its own waymarkers and quickly enters Könizbergwald. After a short ascent, it soon reaches its highest point at around 630 m; the summit of Könizberg itself lies off the route.

From there, the course runs almost entirely through the forest, descending gently. Over just under 3 km, it gains around 50 m in elevation, while the descent to the finish amounts to just under 100 m. After about 50 minutes, the route ends back in Liebefeld, albeit at a lower point. The nearest stop, Bern, Hardegg Vidmar, is around 500 m away.

03/ Conditions

Current conditions

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.

  • How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.

  • How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.

  • How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
