01/ Overview
The route
A woodland-rich circuit with gentle elevation changes: the Bremer Loop leads from Oberdettigen to Gschuntnehubel and back along a mixture of waymarked and unmarked paths.
The circular hike begins in Oberdettigen, away from public transport. The nearest stop, Hinterkappelen, Schlossmatt, is around 900 m away. Laid out as a waymarked urban running trail, the red Bremer Loop can also be explored on foot. Over a little more than ten kilometres, the route is characterised above all by woodland, with the modest elevation changes spread across gentle undulations.
Initially, hiking trails and shorter unmarked sections lead through the forest. After just under an hour, the circuit reaches its highest point near Gschuntnehubel at around 570 m. There is no real summit ascent: the route runs almost level through the wooded hills before curving back.
On the return leg, yellow-waymarked paths again alternate with sections outside the marked hiking trail network. With no significant final ascent, the circuit returns to its starting point in Oberdettigen after a little over two and a half hours.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
