01/ Overview

The route

A dream for families and leisure hikers: this easy circuit just under three kilometres long crosses the quiet, car-free plateau of Bargis, following the Aua da Mulins stream amid the resplendent mountain scenery.

The winter hike at Flims, Bargis begins at the Fidaz, Bargis bus stop, immediately beside Berghaus Bargis. The short circular route leads out across open meadows and pastures. At first, the trail descends almost imperceptibly before beginning a gentle climb; Berghaus Bargis is left behind, and the view opens out across the wide surroundings.

Just over a third of the way along, the winter hike reaches its highest point at around 1,570 metres. The route then traces a wide loop across almost level terrain and turns back towards Bargis. In total, the trail covers around three kilometres, with only about 50 metres of ascent and descent. The final section leads gently back to the starting point. After just under an hour, Berghaus Bargis reappears; a few steps later, the destination is reached at the Fidaz, Bargis bus stop.

03/ Conditions

Current conditions

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.

  • How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.

  • How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.

  • Winter hiking is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.

How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
