01/ Overview
The route
The circular hiking trail with a view of the Piz Beverin showcases the unique Safien Valley mountains, as well as the innovative mountain village of Tenna with the world’s first solar ski lift. Visitors are sure to spot the solar cells on many of the rooftops.
The short winter hike starts at the Tenna, Mitte bus stop and leads through the village. After just a few steps, the route passes Berghotel Alpenblick and continues between the houses to Ausserberg. It initially loses a little elevation before beginning to climb across open slopes.
Above the settlement, Tenna remains in view. Open terrain also characterises the middle section. The circuit climbs gently to its highest point at around 1,710 m. The route then descends again and reaches Innerberg, where meadows and scattered houses dominate the landscape.
The three-kilometre circuit is completed over the final few metres. Tenna is reached again after just under an hour; the Tenna, Mitte bus stop is right by the finish, near Berghotel Alpenblick, where the route began.
