Winterwanderweg Lag la Cresta

The burbling Turnigla brook, the Flem gorge, snow-covered fields, the mystical forest around Bot la Cresta hill – and, of course, charming Cresta Lake keep the winter hikers fascinated along their way.

From the Trin, Mulin bus stop, it is only a few minutes to the starting point in Trin Mulin. The winter hike leaves the houses behind and initially crosses open terrain. After a short descent, the route continues between meadows and the edge of the forest on a gentle, steady climb.

After just over two kilometres, the loop reaches its highest point at just under 900 m; around 120 metres of elevation gain are covered in total. It then descends through the forest to Lag la Cresta. Crestasee lies at 844 m between Flims and Trin. Its Romansh name derives from the Latin «crista», meaning a ridge in the terrain. The winter hiking trail runs close to the shore before disappearing among the trees once more.

The loop then turns back towards Trin Mulin. The first houses come into view at La Resgia. After around five kilometres and just over an hour and a half, the loop ends back at the starting point; the Trin, Mulin bus stop is a few minutes’ walk away.
