01/ Overview
The route
A winter hiking route on the sunny hillside at Bergün. Take a gentle walk through snow-covered forests to the hamlet of Latsch, where the Heidi films were shot, and enjoy the views into the Albula Valley and of the striking Bergünerstöcke peaks.
The six-kilometre winter circuit begins directly at the Bergün/Bravuogn stop. Between the houses of Bergün, the trail starts to climb gently, steadily gaining height across open slopes and through stretches of forest. Just over halfway, it reaches its highest point at around 1,620 m, not far from Cuolm da Latsch. The return route initially remains at this elevation before leading into the nearby village of Latsch.
There, the route passes through the lower village and by the Reformed church. This listed place of worship stands in the centre of the village. The winter hiking trail then descends across open terrain and between scattered sections of forest back into the valley. Bergün draws closer again with the first houses; after around six kilometres and a little over two hours, the circuit ends at the Bergün/Bravuogn stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Winter hiking is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
