01/ Overview
The route
The cross-country trail winds its way along the RhB railway line and the Beverin stream, ascending slightly as it reaches Spinas at the southern portal of the Albula Tunnel. Short detours through forests of Swiss pine and larch or to the restaurant at the trail’s turning point provide relaxation.
The starting point of the trail is not directly served by public transport; the nearest stop, Bever, Dorfzentrum, is around one kilometre away. From Bever, the circuit initially passes through the settlement before emerging onto the open expanses of the Upper Engadin. From its lowest point near the start, the trail climbs gradually over the first half.
Around the halfway point, it reaches its highest point near Cho d’Valletta at approximately 1'820 m. By then, most of the total elevation gain of around 170 metres has been completed. The route then descends again through the open high valley. Towards the end, the houses of Bever draw closer once more. After a total of ten kilometres and just over two and a half hours, the trail returns to its starting point; from the finish, too, Bever, Dorfzentrum, is the nearest stop, around one kilometre away.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
