01/ Overview
The route
Cross-country ski trail through the forest from S-chanf to Zernez, an addition to the route of the Engadin ski marathon. It follows the Inn River and mostly runs gently downhill to the gateway of the Swiss National Park.
From the S-chanf, Parc Naziunal stop, a short approach leads to the start of the cross-country ski trail. The route initially climbs through open terrain and woodland. After around three kilometres, it reaches its highest point at just under 1,700 m, not far from Munt Blais. The trail then heads down the valley towards Brail. Away from the route, the listed Baselgia Brail stands on the hillside.
Alternating between woodland and open terrain, the trail continues through the Engadin. Over 14 kilometres, it involves around 240 metres of ascent and 420 metres of descent. Towards the end, the trees recede and Zernez draws closer. After just under four hours, the cross-country skiing ends in the village at the Center Parc Naziunal; the stop of the same name is only a few steps away. The Restorant Center da Sport is also close to the finish.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
