01/ Overview
The route
Largely flat trail on the elongated valley plain between the Bolgen and Davos Frauenkirch. It leads across the plain towards Wildboden and makes a loop past the listed forest cemetery.
The start of the six-kilometre circuit is just a few steps from the Davos Platz, AO Zentrum bus stop. Gasthaus Islen stands beside the trail right near the start. The route initially descends gently across open terrain before tackling its most noticeable climb. After around one and a half kilometres, the highest point is reached near Hubel at just over 1'560 m. Altogether, the climbs amount to around 120 metres of elevation gain.
From the highest point, the trail sweeps in a broad arc through the open terrain back towards Davos Platz. In the final third, it meets the Landwasser and runs alongside the river for around half a kilometre. The houses then draw closer again. At the Jakobshornbahn car park, the circuit passes Bolgen Plaza. Over the final kilometres, the loop closes before returning after just over one and a half hours to the starting point in Davos Platz and the nearby AO Zentrum bus stop.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
