01/ Overview
The route
Challenging track amidst the mountain landscape of Arosa and with a view into the valley Schanfigg. Especially idyllic: Alp Prätschalp and Lake Prätschsee in the partly forested high plateau.
The approximately eight-kilometre trail begins in Maran, near the Arosa, Langlauf/Golf stop. It initially descends across open terrain, reaching its lowest point after just under two kilometres. The route then climbs again. Meadows and pastures dominate the scenery, with the trail occasionally entering the forest.
The ascent continues for longer in the second half. The trail passes Unter Prätschsee right along the shore, then climbs to its highest point at around 1'940 m, not far from Maraner Hauptji. After just over two hours, the view across the surrounding area opens up at the Panorama Arosa viewpoint. From there, the trail descends to the first houses of Maran. The final loop leads through the settlement back to the starting point at the Arosa, Langlauf/Golf stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
