Biberegg-Herrenboden-Schneeschuhtrail

Bridges and views are the stars of this snowshoe trail. Along the way, hikers can take off their snowshoes and enjoy a special experience: the foot suspension bridge in Sattel-Hochstuckli.

The snowshoe tour begins in Biberegg, somewhat removed from public transport; the nearest stop, Rothenthurm, Biberegg, is around 400 m away. The ten-kilometre circuit starts at Restaurant Beaver Creek. It initially leads away from the houses across open terrain, after which exposed slopes and sections of woodland alternate.

As the route gains altitude, the ascent becomes steeper. After a little over two hours, it approaches Bannegg and shortly afterwards reaches its highest point at just under 1,500 m. The summit itself lies a short distance off the route. In this upper section, broad open expanses shape the circuit, while the woodland repeatedly provides a marked contrast. The SAC Clubhaus Bärenfang lies away from the route.

The route now descends again, partly through woodland and partly across open slopes. It passes directly by the Ägeriblick fire pit. Continuing to lose altitude, it eventually reaches the first houses of Biberegg. After a little over five hours, the snowshoe tour ends back at the starting point.
