Furggelen-Schneeschuhtrail

This snowshoe hike crosses remote yet busy areas, overseen in silence by the two Mythen peaks. It's well worth stopping along the way to admire the magnificent views of the Schwyz mountains and landscape.

The snowshoe tour begins at the lowest point of the route, by the Brunni SZ, Restaurant Brunni bus stop. It climbs briskly across open meadows and wet hollows; with around 700 metres of ascent, the climb remains the defining feature all the way to the summit area. At Furggelen Pass, the Wirtschaft Furggelen inn stands directly on the route.

This is followed by the steepest section, leading up to Furggelenstock. The summit cross stands at 1,655 m; after just over two hours, this also marks the highest point of the tour. The route initially loses altitude before continuing through open terrain in a longer succession of ascents and descents. Near Brünnelistock, the forest becomes denser, although the route does not reach the summit.

At Müsliegg, the landscape opens up again. From there, the track continues to Stäglerenegg and along the final section to Holzegg. After around seven kilometres and just over four hours, the snowshoe tour ends at the Holzegg stop.
