01/ Overview
The route
Starting from Col du Mollendruz, the link between the Lake Geneva basin and Lake Joux, this walking route offers spectacular views of the plain and the Alps. You can opt to walk all or half of the route.
From the Mollendruz, col bus stop, it is only a few steps to the starting point on the Col du Mollendruz. The pass, at an elevation of 1,180 m, links L’Isle with Le Pont. From here, the winter hiking route climbs across open Jura terrain. After just over one kilometre, it reaches the highest point of the circuit at Haut du Mollendruz, at around 1,200 m.
The route then gradually loses elevation, leading from the open landscape into the forest. The lowest point comes roughly halfway along. The gentle undulations of the Vaud Jura shape the remainder of the trail; over the eight kilometres, there is a total elevation gain of around 170 metres. Woodland and open sections alternate on the way back, until the Col du Mollendruz pass is reached again after around two and a half hours.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Winter hiking is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
