01/ Overview
The route
Hike to the Cungieri viewpoint and back. The path leads in long bends through open terrain. From the top, you get the best view over the Val Tujetsch. For a more leisurely alternative, take the Cuolm da Vi cable car from Sedrun to the intermediate station.
The winter hike starts at the Sedrun public transport stop in the heart of the village. Between the houses, the route begins to climb and soon leaves the built-up area behind. It gains a total of around 420 metres in elevation across open slopes. The sustained ascent defines the first half of the seven-kilometre circuit. The higher the route climbs, the further the houses recede; meadows and pastures now dominate the landscape.
After about half the distance, the route reaches its highest point at around 1,840 m, close to Piz Las Palas. From there, the circuit turns back down towards the valley. The descent leads across meadows and pastures towards Sedrun, where the first houses gradually reappear. After just under three hours, the circuit ends back at the Sedrun public transport stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Winter hiking is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
