The route
In Campra, those who love walking on the snow can discover the Nordic side of the sun-drenched Blenio Valley. The easy, level, signposted walking trail follows the river Brenno and is ideal for those who love to release stress in nature and surrounded by alder and spruce forests.
From the Campra, centro nordico bus stop, the winter hike begins almost immediately beside the centre of the same name. The five-kilometre circuit initially crosses open terrain and approaches the Brenno del Lucomagno. The route follows the river for a short stretch before gradually gaining altitude near the houses of Campra.
Alternating between clearings and forest, the circuit continues uphill. Around halfway, it reaches its highest point at approximately 1,440 m; despite the modest elevation difference of around 90 metres, this gentle ascent gives the hike a clear rhythm. The route then descends again, continuing through a mix of open terrain and forest until the end. After just under two hours, the circuit closes at the Centro nordico in Campra.
