Sedrun-Disentis-Weg

This popular winter hike on the sunny side of the valley follows the railway line until Disentis. Impressive sights along the way include a view of the village below and the three peaks of the Piz Muraun, Piz Cazirauns and Piz Caschleglia in the distance.

The winter hike towards Disentis starts directly at Sedrun station. The route initially leads through the village before climbing gently. At Caplutta S. Giusep, the highest point is reached at around 1,440 m, close to Bostg. From here, open countryside sets the tone.

The trail continues mostly downhill across open terrain, interrupted by short uphill sections. The approximately 440 metres of descent are spread over the nine-kilometre route. Just over two-thirds of the way along, Ustria Cresta stands directly beside the trail. A little later, the winter hiking trail passes La Caplutta and approaches the houses of Disentis.

On the final section, the route follows the Rein d’Acletta for a short distance. The village then comes into view; near Baselgia S. Gion, the trail continues to Disentis/Mustér station. After just under three hours, the winter hike ends directly at the station, with the station buffet right at the finish.
