01/ Overview
The route
Lovely hike through the snow-covered spruce and pine forests above the sunny village of Carì. Passing Prodör and Predelp, it leads to the agri-tourism site Alla Meta, where local products can be tasted.
From the Carì Croce bus stop, it is only a few steps to the starting point by the houses of Carì. Ristorante La Pineta is close to the start. The winter hiking trail soon emerges into open terrain and climbs at a gentle, steady pace. Over the first two kilometres or so, the elevation changes remain moderate.
Near All'Uomo, the circuit reaches its highest point at around 1,670 m. The route then descends again, passing between open areas and the edge of the settlement before entering the forest towards the end. Views remain open for long stretches before the trees close in. With around 150 metres of ascent and descent, the elevation profile is well balanced; just under two hours should be allowed for the six kilometres. Emerging from the forest, the winter hiking trail returns to the houses and ends back in Carì, just a few steps from the Carì Croce bus stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Winter hiking is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
