The route
The winter hiking trail between Airolo and Pesciüm, overlooking the majestic massif of the St. Gotthard, offers a privileged point of view to enjoy the scenic landscapes of the heart of the Swiss Alps.
The winter hike begins at the Pesciüm stop on the open high plateau above Airolo. The three-kilometre circuit initially climbs gently towards Mottone di Comasnè. Open terrain shapes the views as the route gains around 100 metres in elevation.
Near Mottone di Comasnè, it reaches its highest point at just over 1'800 m. It then descends in a broad arc back towards Pesciüm. After just under an hour, the circuit ends at the Pesciüm stop.
