01/ Overview
The route
On Nidwalden’s sunny side of the lake, the Nas Tour combines paths along Lake Lucerne with woodland, a mountain trail and the viewpoints of Rappersfluh and St. Jost.
From the Buochs, Post bus stop, the route initially leads through Buochs and along Lake Lucerne towards Aawasseregg and Ennetbürgen. The open shoreline offers views across the lake, surrounded by the foothills of the Alps; at Unter Nas, it narrows between Ober Nas and Unter Nas.
The trail then leaves the shore and climbs through meadows and woodland. The broad hiking trail becomes a steeper mountain trail leading up to Rappersfluh, one of the viewpoints on this circuit. A little farther on, near Bürgenstock, the route reaches its highest point at just under 800 metres; it then descends to the chapel of St. Jost, another scenic stopping point.
The descent leads via Weingärtli back to the lake. Towards the end, the route once again follows the shore of Lake Lucerne and reaches the first houses of Buochs. It continues past La Piazzetta to the village centre and back to the Buochs, Post bus stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
