01/ Overview
The route
A playful circuit through pastures and woodland: activities, different cattle breeds and encounters with herds provide insights into suckler cow farming before the trail returns to Luthern Bad.
The signposted experience trail begins at the Luthern Bad, Dreilindenplatz PostBus stop. The Gasthaus Hirschen is right beside the trail at the start. The route then climbs through open meadows and pastures. Activities and games at several stations explain suckler cow farming, sustainable feed and how to behave properly around cattle.
Near Grausberg, the circuit reaches its highest point at around 1,020 metres. For long stretches, it runs outside the marked hiking trail network; amid pastures and woodland, the cattle themselves take centre stage. Grauvieh, Simmental, Limousin and Braunvieh illustrate the diversity of breeds, while further stations address the issue of litter in cattle pastures. Wishubelhütte is also one of the named stations.
On the return leg, dairy herds and cattle beside the trail alternate with short sections of woodland. Shortly before the end, the route passes directly by the Maria-Heilbronn pilgrimage church and returns to Dreilindenplatz in Luthern Bad, where the PostBus stops.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
