01/ Overview
The route
The LUTRUN follows the Luther through meadows and pastures. Brown signposts lead from Luthern Bad past the church and an arm and foot bath to the village of Luthern.
It is only a few steps from the Luthern Bad, Dreilindenplatz postbus stop to the starting point of the LUTRUN. Near the Gasthaus Hirschen, the route passes the Maria-Heilbronn pilgrimage church. Right at the start, it reaches its highest point at around 880 m; from there, brown signposts lead down the valley. An arm and foot bath is one of the stops along the way.
Through the open Luthertal, the route follows the Luther, gradually losing elevation. Meadows and pastures dominate the landscape, interspersed with the houses of Chrutzi. As the LUTRUN runs largely outside the network of yellow waymarked hiking trails, the brown signposts indicate the way. Towards the end, the first houses of Luthern draw closer. The village centre is reached at the Gasthof Krone; a few minutes later, the walk of just over an hour ends in Luthern Dorf, around 200 m from the Luthern, Dorf postbus stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
