01/ Overview
The route
Bogs, orchids and open mountain pine forests characterise the Flower Walk. From the highest point on the Blattenegg, views open up towards the striking Schratenflue.
From the Rossweid bus stop, the Flower Walk begins at the Mooraculum. The mountain trail climbs through bilberry and spruce forest rich in ferns and leads into the moorland above Sörenberg. Designed as a botanical circuit, it draws attention to the plants along the wayside; the bog nature trail is also suitable for families.
Orchids grow in calcareous small-sedge fens, while the white tufts of cottongrass stand out among the wet meadows. The ascent ends on the Blattenegg, the highest point of the route at around 1,630 m. From the pass, views extend towards the striking Schratenflue.
The circuit then continues with gentle ascents and descents across open pastures towards Salwide. Raised-bog mountain pines line the trail, while the forest also reveals traces of how it has developed following storms and bark beetle infestations. Towards the end, the trail becomes wider and descends once more. Passing the Rossweid barbecue site, it returns to the mountain inn and the Rossweid bus stop.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
