01/ Overview
The route
A short circuit through the moorland of Rossweid: the mountain trail circles the Hundschnubel, skirts the protected raised bog by Türnliwald and reaches its highest point at Blattenegg.
The circular hike starts at the Erlebnis-Restaurant by the Rossweid stop. The mountain trail crosses open Alpine pastures towards Schwarzenegg and circles the Hundschnubel. Between Vorder-Schwarzenegg and Blattenegg, it is very wet in places: damp meadows and the moors of the Entlebuch shape the landscape here.
At Türnliwald, the route passes through a protected raised bog with mountain pines. The moor displays particularly vivid colours in autumn. The ascent remains moderate overall but gains height steadily until the highest point of the circuit is reached shortly before Blattenegg, at around 1,630 m. Blattenegg itself lies only slightly lower.
The trail then descends again across open pastures and wet moorland. With no major detours, it leads back to Rossweid. After a good hour and a half, the circuit ends back at the Erlebnis-Restaurant Rossweid; the Rossweid stop is right beside it.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
