01/ Overview
The route
Three culinary stages accompany the route from Rossweid through moorland meadows and mountain pine forest down to Sörenberg.
The gondola carries passengers from Sörenberg up to Rossweid, where the culinary hike begins at its highest point, around 1,460 m. Coffee and croissants provide a fitting start to the first stage. The broad hiking trail then leads through moorland of national importance. Open pastures alternate with wet meadows and raised-bog woodland where mountain pines grow among the bilberry bushes.
Via Husegg and Salwide, the route descends mostly gently to Hotel Bergwelten Salwideli, where the starter is served. On the next, partly unsurfaced section towards Rischli, forest and moorland once again draw closer together. The main course awaits at Hotel Rischli, after which the trail descends to around 1,100 m, the lowest point on the route.
From Rischli, the hike leads via Unterschönisei back to the houses of Sörenberg. The tour, which takes just over two hours, ends with dessert at Restaurant Bäckerstube; the Sörenberg, Schulhaus PostBus stop is just under 200 m away.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
