01/ Overview
The route
A short family-friendly circular trail among gnarled mountain pines, sundew and open moorland. Discovery stations invite visitors to touch, listen and smell – walking barefoot over sand and moss before returning to Rossweid.
The short, pushchair-friendly circular trail through the Mooraculum adventure park starts at the Rossweid mountain station. The gondola carries visitors up from Sörenberg; the moorland experience begins right by the station, amid open moorland and upland blueberry bog woodland.
Along the way, Mira the bog dragonfly guides visitors through the discovery stations. Animal tracks and calls can be explored, and the scents of flowers compared. At «Barefoot in the Moor», the route leads over sand and soft moss, while hanging chairs suspended from trees offer a place to rest. Gnarled mountain pines characterise the bog woodland. The stations also draw attention to orchids and the carnivorous sundew.
The route climbs only gently, reaching its highest point at around 1,510 m. The trail then descends through the moorland back to Rossweid. After just under one and a half kilometres and around 25 minutes, the circuit ends back at the Rossweid mountain station. Scooters can be hired there.

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
