01/ Overview
The route
Water shapes this circular hike from Flühli: from the Kneipp trail and sulphur spring to the long suspension bridge above the gorge and the waterfall in Chessiloch.
From the Flühli Post bus stop, the route leads through the village to the Kneipp facility at Schwandalpweiher. It then climbs across open meadows to Schwandalp and continues towards Chrageberg. Wildflowers line the ascent before the forest grows denser. Barbecue and picnic areas offer opportunities for a break.
On the steep Quellenpfad, a handrail assists the climb to the sulphur spring, whose water was once considered to have healing properties. The mountain path continues through the forest and reaches its highest point at around 1'080 m. Shortly afterwards, the view opens up at Chessimättli; the suspension bridge spans the gorge and is considered the longest in the Entlebuch.
The descent leads via Bunihus and Hüttlenen back to lower ground. Along the way, the Seebenbach and Rotbach streams define the water-shaped landscape. Towards the end, the Emmenuferweg leads to the waterfall in Chessiloch, where the route ends after just over two and a half hours.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
