01/ Overview
The route
Experience a magnificent round trip hike on the Fürstin-Gina-Weg path to the Augstenberg and along the flower-filled mountain ridge along a secured mountain trail down to the Liechtenstein Alpine Association's Pfälzerhütte, located at the base of the Naapfkopf mountain.
The route starts at Sareis and climbs through largely open terrain on a mountain trail marked in white-red-white. The surroundings become rockier as the trail gains altitude. After just under five kilometres, the route reaches its highest point at around 2,360 m, near the Naafkopf. Up to this point, the long ascent and barren mountain landscape define the character of the hike.
The mountain trail then continues towards Malbun-Steg, with alternating ascents and descents. Over the twelve kilometres, the route involves a total of around 950 metres of both ascent and descent. Just under five hours and a good level of fitness should be allowed. Both the starting point at Sareis and the destination at Malbun-Steg are some distance from public transport. The nearest stop is listed as Weite, Lonna/Heuwiese, around eight kilometres from each.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
There may be snow on this hiking trail. Bring appropriate gear and plan accordingly.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
