01/ Overview
The route
The toboggan run from Gotschnaboden leads to Klosters over gentle undulations and through steep bends. Madrisa can be seen on the opposite slope, while the Prättigau valley and the Silvretta Glacier also add to the winter scenery.
The toboggan route begins at the Gotschnaboden stop, just a few steps from the start. At around 1,780 m, this is also the highest point of the route, with the Gotschnagrat rising above it. From the open terrain, the descent heads directly down the valley. Over four kilometres, it drops around 620 metres in elevation, giving the ride its distinctive character.
Further down, the open slopes increasingly give way to forest. The route continues towards Klosters, descending from the heights into the valley. Only towards the end do the houses of Klosters Platz come into view. Standing slightly apart is the Reformed church, a cultural property of national significance. After just under an hour, at around 1,170 m, the toboggan route ends in Klosters. The Klosters Platz (Gotschnabahn) stop is only a few steps from the finish.
