01/ Overview
The route
The exposed high-level hike leads past steeply sloping pastures and traditional farmhouses. On the cantonal border between the Emmental and Entlebuch, fantastic panoramic views open up time and again. The Kambly show confectionery and the Marbach show dairy offer delightful culinary experiences.
The approximately 15-kilometre hike begins at the Trubschachen stop. The waymarked hiking trail leaves the village and climbs out of the valley. Open meadows and pastures dominate the landscape, interspersed with sections of woodland. By Chäserenegg, much of the total ascent of around 840 metres has already been completed.
The route then continues in steady ups and downs along the ridge between the upper Emmental and Entlebuch. Woodland and open pasture alternate, while the trail remains far from settlements for long stretches. Near Wachthubel, it reaches its highest point at around 1,400 m. The summit itself lies slightly off the route.
From the heights, a long descent leads via Ober Bergegg towards Marbach. Near the end, scattered farms and settlements draw closer together, and the Schonbach accompanies the trail for a short stretch. After just under five hours, the hike ends in Marbach; the Marbach LU, Dorf stop is only a few steps from the finish.
