01/ Overview
The route
From panoramic Turner, this downhill hike descends into the Emmental along shady woodland edges and across open pastures. Layers of hills unfold along the way, while Trubschachen awaits at the end with a pottery and café.
The starting point at Turner lies at just under 1,160 m and is not served by public transport; the approach begins at Escholzmatt railway station. Shortly after the start, the high trail reaches its highest point at around 1,160 m. From there, it leads almost continuously downhill, initially across open terrain with views of the gentle hills of the Emmental. At Nageldach, an alternating landscape of pastures and shady woodland edges begins.
The hiking trail continues downhill via Ober-Altgfäl and Hinter Risisegg. Stretches of woodland and clearings characterise this stage; at Vorder Risisegg and Schindelegg, views repeatedly open up across the layered hills. Via Alpetli and Untere Schwand, the route continues to lose elevation before the first houses of Trubschachen appear. The village is home to the Kambly Experience and Aebi pottery with its small café. After just under two hours, the hike ends at Trubschachen railway station, only a few steps from the stop.

How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
