01/ Overview
The route
Woodland, open hills and sweeping views across the Napf region characterise this high trail from Doppleschwand to Obstaldenegg. The Brienzergrat and Bernese Alps appear on the horizon.
From the Doppleschwand, Post bus stop, the high trail begins at the Church of St Nicholas. The first ascent starts between the last houses. Meadows and pastures dominate the scenery, with short stretches of woodland adding variety. Via Graben, the broad hiking trail continues gently up and down to March and Chriesbaume.
Beyond Habschwanden, the route begins to climb more noticeably again. Open heights reveal views across the Napf region, with the Brienzergrat and Bernese Alps visible in the distance. Near Voglisbergegg, the trail leads to Schüpferegg. A short section away from the marked hiking trail network then follows before the highest point is reached at around 1,070 metres.
Shortly before the destination, the Swing the World swing awaits. A little later, the almost ten-kilometre hike ends at the Obstaldenegg pass by the barbecue area. Around 470 metres of ascent must be tackled on this hike of just over three hours. There is no public transport connection nearby: the nearest stop, Bramboden, Kirchplatz, is around 1.6 kilometres from Obstaldenegg.

How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
