01/ Overview
The route
The Flimserwald forest offers soothing relaxation. The Il Spir viewing platform awaits you in Conn. A steep descent leads down into the Val da Mulin, then along a historic pilgrimage route to Laax and the Jakobskapelle. From there we go to Falera, where the megalithic complex and the church of St. Remigius await you.
The hike begins in Digg, somewhat off the public transport network; the nearest bus stop, Trin, Porclis, is around 500 m away. The route soon leaves the houses behind on a broad hiking trail and enters the forest. After a lengthy stretch through the woods, it reaches the Conn excursion restaurant, followed shortly afterwards by the Plaunca dall’Isla viewpoint.
The route continues, alternating between easy hiking trails and steeper sections of mountain path. The forest initially remains the dominant feature before views open up near Tuora and later at the rocky Crap Signina. After a little over three hours, a longer ascent begins. Over the entire route, the total elevation gain amounts to around 950 metres.
In Laax, the trail passes the Church of St Othmar and St Gallus before climbing again across open meadows. Shortly before Falera, not far from Crest la Plugliusa, the highest point is reached at just over 1,200 m. From there, it is only a few more minutes to the village. The hike ends in the centre of Falera at the Sacred Heart Church, built in 1903/04, just a few steps from the bus stop.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
