01/ Overview
The route
You can also enjoy cross-country skiing in Aargau: in the natural arena of Moos near Leutwil for example. The loop with several challenging uphill and downhill sections first crosses an open landscape before taking you around the edge of the wood.
The cross-country ski trail begins at the Leutwil shooting clubhouse, some distance from public transport. The nearest stop, Leutwil Dorfplatz, is around 600 m away. From the start, the route heads out across open meadows and fields, initially climbing gently.
After just over one kilometre, it reaches its highest point near Elleberg at around 670 m. The trail then continues over gently undulating open terrain before descending towards the end. After around three kilometres and just under an hour, the trail finishes back at the shooting clubhouse.

03/ Conditions
Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
