01/ Overview
The route
The route leads from Menzberg to the Napf across panoramic heights and wooded ridges. After the highest summit in the Napfbergland, the long descent to Hübeli follows.
From the Menzberg, Dorfplatz PostBus stop, the trail passes St. Theodul Church and soon leaves the village behind. It crosses meadows and pastures to Waldighubel, then continues in constant undulations through alternating open countryside and woodland in the Napfbergland. An SAC hut stands beside the trail at Chrotthütten.
The ascent now becomes steeper. Passing the Stächelegg mountain inn, the route climbs to the Napf, at around 1,400 m the highest point of the hike and also the highest summit in the Napfbergland. From the top, the panorama extends across the Swiss Plateau to the Alps; the long descent begins at the triangulation point.
At first, the trail descends rapidly through the forest, before meadows and isolated farms reappear. At Oberlehn, a lime tree stands beside seating and a panoramic information board. Towards the end, the route continues downhill to the first houses of Hübeli and finishes near the Hübeli LU, Hintersagi PostBus stop.

How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
