01/ Overview
The route
Gentle hills, open pastures and sweeping views of the Alps characterise the Alpenpanorama-Weg from Menzberg. After traversing panoramic heights, the route descends steeply to the Emme and Wolhusen railway station.
From the Menzberg, Dorfplatz PostBus stop, the route leads out between the houses and initially continues to climb gently. After just over a kilometre, it reaches its highest point at around 1,070 m near Chrüzhubel. Meadows and pastures then extend across the gentle hills; between Oberlehn and Gutenegg, sweeping views open up towards the Alps. The yellow-waymarked hiking trail remains pleasantly easy to follow while gradually losing altitude.
The route continues via Längebüel-Schür, rising and falling steadily towards Steinhuserberg. The Ofenlochrutsche barbecue site offers an opportunity for a break. Around Steinhusen, open farmland alternates with isolated farms and short stretches of woodland; the modern Church of St Anna comes into view on Steinhuserberg.
The gradient becomes more pronounced in the final third. The concluding descent leads steeply down from the hills to Wolhusen. The valley floor is reached at the first houses; near the Emme, the route continues through the built-up area to Wolhusen railway station.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
