01/ Overview
The route
This route runs mainly below the villages, close to the upper Rhine. It takes you through forests of alder trees and across open fields. If you are feeling more energetic, you can ski from Trun to Disentis.
The start of the cross-country ski trail is just a few steps from the Disentis/Mustér, Salaplauna stop. Initially, it climbs between open countryside and woodland, reaching its highest point at around 1,200 m near Muota dil Tir. The route then descends again towards Disentis/Mustér. The initial climb is brief; it is followed by a long traverse down the valley.
Meadows and pastures dominate long stretches, interspersed with sections of woodland. With constant ups and downs but an overall clear descent, the trail leads to Cumpadials and onwards to Surrein. The settlements provide brief accents in the open landscape before woodland and open terrain alternate once more. After around 19 km and almost five hours of cross-country skiing, the houses of Trun are reached. The trail ends there; the nearest stop, Trun, staziun, is around 400 m from the finishing point.

Current conditions
What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.
How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.
How we check: We look up a live public transport connection from your starting point to the stop closest to the trailhead. If it ends further away, the nearest stop may be a cable car or bus that isn't running right now.
Cross-country skiing is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.
How we check: Snow depth estimated daily at the lowest and the highest point of the route. Estimates: check the situation on site.
