Nordspitze Panoramaweg

This walking tour combines history and botany. The route goes past the protected botanical gem called «Tannbüel» with its numerous orchid species to the northernmost point of Switzerland, the historical landmark number 593.

The 14-kilometre circular hike begins directly by the Bargen SH, Dorf bus stop. Following yellow waymarked hiking trails, it leaves the village and climbs through open meadows and pastures. Over the course of the almost four-hour hike, the various ascents add up to around 580 metres.

As the route gains height, the wooded sections become longer. The trail continues steadily up and down through the quiet hills, reaching its highest point after around ten kilometres. At just over 890 m, this lies in the vicinity of Hagen. The descent then begins, still mostly beneath the trees and without changing onto more demanding mountain trails.

On the final section, the route approaches the valley floor again. It runs alongside the Durach for a short distance before the first houses of Bargen come into view. The trail then leads through the village back to the starting point and the nearby bus stop.
