01/ Overview
The route
Les Pléiades marks the beginning of the Pre-alps, overlooking Lake Geneva and the towns and villages of the Vaud Riviera. The Tenasses trail, ideal for families, is a chance to discover some of the natural riches of this area, such as the Tenasses Nature Park.
The snowshoe trail begins at Motalles, above Les Pléiades. The Les Motalles stop is just under 250 m from the actual starting point. The short circuit, around 3 km long, initially leads into the forest, where the trees restrict the views and the route loses little elevation. Farther on, denser sections of forest alternate with damp, more open areas.
After the lowest point, the route begins to climb gently again. In the final third, it reaches its highest point at around 1'250 m, near Les Pléiades. Between the open areas, the route enters the forest once more. In total, there are around 110 metres of ascent, for which a little over an hour should be allowed. The circuit then descends back to the starting point at Les Pléiades, Motalles.
