01/ Overview
The route
A bucolic route at the foot of the Teysachaux, framed by the Dent de Lys. Some excellent local produce awaits you in one of the refreshment areas if you want to tempt your taste buds. And for the more adventurous, there’s an adrenaline-filled descent as a bonus!
The snowshoe trail begins in Les Paccots at the Pont de la Cascade, away from public transport. The La Cascade car park is close to the starting point. The nearest stop, Les Paccots, Les Rosalys, is around 700 m away. From the lowest point of the circuit, the route initially climbs through the forest. Over seven kilometres, it gains around 460 metres in elevation; just over three and a half hours should be allowed for the full circuit.
Higher up, the trees give way to open meadows and pastures. Around halfway along, the snowshoe route reaches its highest point at just over 1,520 m, close to the Teysachaux. Shortly afterwards, it passes the Buvette Le Vuipay. The circuit then descends again towards Les Paccots. The open terrain remains in view for a while before the route returns to the starting point at the Pont de la Cascade.
