Parcours du Molard

This “ecOtrace” trail takes you on a journey through timeless surroundings in the hills above the Montreux Riviera. In less than an hour, you’ll travel from charming floral lakeshores to snow-covered peaks with stunning views.

The snowshoe circuit begins in Cergniaule above Les Avants, away from public transport; the nearest stop, Sonloup, is around 900 m away. From the starting point, the route initially climbs through dense forest. After the first long ascent, it passes Chalet La Planiaz before increasingly open meadows and pastures begin to appear between the trees.

The route continues steadily uphill towards the Col de Soladier. The pass itself lies slightly off the route. It then follows the wooded slope towards Le Folly and reaches its highest point at 1,645 m, without leading to the 1,730 m summit. By this point, just over half of the seven kilometres has been completed.

The return route descends into the forest again in long bends. Towards the end, the gradient becomes gentler, and after a little over three and a half hours, the circuit closes at the starting point in Cergniaule.
