01/ Overview

The route

Across rolling heights to sweeping views of the Napf region, the Central Swiss Alps and as far as the Jura range. The return route follows the Enziwigger to Hergiswil.

The circular hike of around three and a half hours begins in the centre of the village at the Hergiswil LU, Dorf bus stop. The hiking trail climbs via Hickern and Ober Hickern to the gently rolling heights. Meadows and pastures shape the landscape, with views opening up beyond them towards the Napf region and the Central Swiss Alps.

Near Fluegütsch, the route reaches its highest point at around 810 m. It continues through the Nollental to Birchbüel and the Bösegg chapel. On the way to Honegg, the view extends across Ufhusen as far as the Jura range; the lime tree at Honegg offers a pleasant place to rest. Benches and barbecue sites can be found at scenic spots along the way.

The trail then descends gently to the valley floor. At the Breiten barbecue site, the route meets the Enziwigger and follows it back to Hergiswil. Shortly before the finish, Café Thalmann lies directly on the route. A few steps further on, the hike ends in the village; the PostBus stop is just under 70 m away.
