01/ Overview

The route

Sport&Fun in Mompé Medel: the climb up to the start of the sledging run is quite strenuous, but racing back down the valley, with views over Disentis, is sheer fun.

The toboggan run begins at its highest point, at around 1,600 m, above Mompé Medel and near Bostg. The start is away from public transport; the Mumpé Tujetsch, Via Alpsu stop is around 800 m away.

Over three kilometres, the route descends around 300 metres. At first, the descent leads through open meadows and pastures, after which forest dominates the scenery. After around 40 minutes, the first houses of Mumpé Medel come into view. The finish is in the village; the nearest stop, Mumpé Medel, spartavias, is just under 500 m away.

03/ Conditions

Current conditions

What to know before you set off. Closures and snow are re-checked every day.

  • How we check: Every night we match the route against the official closures and detours from the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO). Any reported closure that touches the route shows up here.

  • Sledding is more fun in the snow! Check local conditions before heading out.

How we check: SLF only publishes its snow maps from November 1. Until then we roughly estimate the snow depth at the lowest and the highest point of the route every day from the nearest SLF measuring stations. Check the situation on site.
