01/ Overview
The route
This charming snowshoe trail passes by idyllic hamlets and the Camana huts, which seem to be strung on a silver thread. The view stretches into the distance throughout the hike: to the striking Piz Beverin peak, the Bruschghorn, the Glas Pass and the far end of the Safien Valley.
The five-kilometre snowshoe tour begins at the Thalkirch, Abzw. Innercamana bus stop. The route climbs across open terrain towards Ober Camana. The houses are soon left behind as the trail ascends broad slopes.
After just over two hours, the highest point is reached at around 1,960 metres. From here, the route descends again, initially across open terrain and then more steeply towards the valley. The tour involves around 340 metres of ascent and 420 metres of descent and takes just under three hours.
The final section leads to the houses of Camanaboda. Shortly afterwards, Hotel Camana lies close to the snowshoe trail before the descent reaches its lowest point. The tour ends at Thalkirch, Mura; the bus stop of the same name is just a few steps away.
