Schneeschuhtrail Hinter Ey–Luthern Bad

Starting in the Luthern Bad place of pilgrimage, the trail follows the Luthern stream through the delightful hills of the Napf region. Alp Badegg offers pleasant views of the Luther valley. A worthwhile place to pause is the Badbrünnli 'place of power' with its mystical arm and foot baths.

The snowshoe circuit begins in the village of Luthern Bad, directly by the Luthern Bad, Dreilindenplatz bus stop. The Maria-Heilbronn pilgrimage church and Gasthaus Hirschen stand close to the starting point. The ascent begins between the houses and soon leads out onto open slopes. The route steadily gains height across meadows and through forest; after the first kilometre, the Luthern stream becomes a constant companion.

Just over halfway along, the highest point is reached at around 1,110 m. The circuit then turns downhill and follows the stream through sections of forest, interspersed with open areas. The gradient eases towards the end. The Badbrünnli chapel lies a little off the route, before the first houses of Luthern Bad come into view. The stream leads almost all the way back to the village; at Dreilindenplatz, the snowshoe hike of just over two hours ends back at the bus stop.
