01/ Overview
The route
The Gantrisch Range, the memorable panorama of Nature Park Gantrisch’s highest range of mountains, also leaves a lasting impression during the winter months. The trail through the bright pine forest beautiful views of the Bernese and Freiburg foothills of the Alps.
The snowshoe tour starts at Schwarzenbühl, by the Rüschegg Schwarzenbühl, Kurhaus bus stop. Shortly after setting off, the circular route enters the forest and climbs steadily past Gägger. A fire pit lies directly on the route, while Gäggersteg is a little way off it. Between the trees, gentler sections alternate with steeper climbs, amounting to around 280 metres of ascent in total.
Around halfway, the tour reaches its highest point at approximately 1,660 m. Shortly afterwards, it leads onto Pfyffe, a summit in the Gurnigel area of the Bernese Pre-Alps. The viewing platform and panorama panel were created as part of the Gantrisch Panorama Trail. There is also a fire pit directly on the route at Pfyffe. The trail then descends through the forest again, completing the four-kilometre loop. Before the finish, the Panoramabar lies close to the trail; after a little over two hours, Schwarzenbühl and its bus stop are reached once more.
