The route
Winter hike starting at the idyllic alpine settlement of Steg. The natural sceneries all around can best be enjoyed on the Schwemmiweg. The trail leads past the reservoir and through the forest to Alp SĂĽcka.
The signposted winter hiking trail begins at Steg, Tunnel, far from public transport; the nearest stop, Weite, Plattis, is almost 6 km away. Across open terrain, the circuit climbs for just over one kilometre to its highest point, situated at around 1,400 m near Mittlerspitz.
The route then descends again, entering the forest in places. Over a total distance of 4 km, it involves around 130 metres of elevation gain. After just over an hour, the circuit ends back at Steg, Tunnel, likewise with no public transport connection nearby.
